Waste Diversion Elevated Enviro Ratings:
Maple Leaf, natural selections, Baked Honey Ham
Elevated Enviro reviews everyday products based on their sustainability and how much of the product can be diverted from landfills after use, waste diversion. Let’s see how Maple Leaf, natural selections does.
All of the ham that doesn’t get used can be put in to a compost bin to be sent to an organics facility. This is where the waste diversion ends for this product. The plastic grade and quality is not posted on the package. As a result we do not know if this can be recycled. If we as consumers can’t tell then those sorting won’t be able to either. Our recyclables go to sorting facilities as the first stop in the recycling process. They are typically managed and sorted by people. If plastic grades are not clearly identifiable then they do not know what line to place them.
We give Maple Leaf, natural selections, Baked Honey Ham a 1.0 out of 5.
